I’m a  junior/senior hybrid at one of the largest private non-denominational Charismatic universities in the world. I won’t mention the name, but it claims to be God’s very own, it’s located in Tulsa, and the founder’s name is Oral Roberts.

I’m a Texas native, so being banished to Oklahoma for four years is somewhere between the depths of Hell and a mild day in Purgatory, but I’m striving to imitate St. Paul the Apostle and be content in all things. And unfortunately, the word ‘striving’ in this context is not hyperbole.

I’m in the process of converting to Roman Catholicism. UPDATE: AS OF 4/24/11, I HAVE BEEN RECEIVED INTO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH! The combination of my alma mater’s theological background and the fact that I’m a good, old-fashioned Bible belt PK means this decision has been met with some ridicule, great concern for my immortal soul, some interesting conversations with a few of my eight siblings, and more than a few conspiracy theories that would put Dan Brown to shame. My personal favorite of the drivel comes in the form of Jesuits controlling the world – they instigated Vietnam as a means to instate a Catholic superpower in Asia, in case you didn’t know. (I recommend The Enemy Unmasked by Bill Hughes).

I’m not a theologian by any definition of the word – this doesn’t mean I dislike theology. I enjoy studying and discussing theology a lot. But I’m not setting out to break any philosophical or theological ground. I just want to share some of my thoughts and struggles with the world – a little narcissistic? Maybe. I choose to think of it as a gesture of solidarity. 😉
So, feel free to look around, drop me a line if you have a question or are outraged by something. . .I definitely wouldn’t mind outpourings of fandom. I kid. But really. Enjoy, kids.

How amazing, Kassie! I went to ORU for one semester in 1987 before they “politely” asked me to leave…I had a big mouth and wrote theological counters to the Prosperity Gospel…thanks for your comment on my post (Wading Across the Tiber)…I pray this comment finds you well and blessed.
